How the dates are worked out

Federal dates come from each IRS rule, and every 2027 date matches the IRS's own tax calendar for 2027 (Publication 509). State dates come from your state's own revenue, labor and licensing pages. When a date lands on a weekend or a holiday, it moves the way the agency's rule says, and the date tells you it moved and why.

Every date links to the official page it comes from and says when we last checked it. Open “Why this date” under any of them to see the rule and what a miss costs.

What we can't know for you

Some dates are printed on your own papers: your liquor license, your health permit, your manager's food safety certificate, the tag from your last hood cleaning. Add them under “Your own dates” and they join the calendar. Some schedules are set by your state for your business, like how often you file sales tax, so the calendar asks. Where an official page doesn't confirm a date, we show where to check instead of a guess.

Reminders on any phone

Email reminders work on every phone: a list of the month's dates on the 1st, a reminder a week before each one, and 60, 30 and 7 days before your own expiry dates. The calendar link adds every date to your iPhone, Mac, Google or Outlook calendar and updates itself when a date changes. No account, and every email has a link to change your answers or stop.

Common questions

Is this legal or tax advice?

No. It's a reminder tool: it organizes the dates agencies publish and links to each one. Your own license, permit or filing schedule can differ, so confirm on the linked page or with your accountant before you file or pay.

Which states does it cover?

All 50 states and Washington DC. Federal dates are the same everywhere. For state dates we show a date only where the state's own page confirms it; the rest say where to check, and we add dates as we confirm them.

My payroll company files my payroll taxes. Do I still need this?

For the payroll forms, the calendar says to check that your payroll company filed them, since a missed filing is still the employer's problem. It also covers what payroll companies don't: sales tax, your state's yearly report, licenses, permits and fire safety service.

What do you do with my answers and email?

The calendar is worked out in your browser, and nothing is sent until you ask for reminders or a calendar link. Then we keep your answers, your own dates and your email only to send the reminders. We never sell or share them.

I got a letter about a beneficial ownership (BOI) report. Do I have to file one?

Not for a company formed in the US: FinCEN's final rule of August 2026 made that permanent. If a letter asks you to pay to file one, check fincen.gov before you do anything.
